Apple Maps Exec Gets the Axe and 1 Tech Titan on the Move

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL): After widespread criticism of their new Maps app, Apple Inc.’s Senior Vice President, Eddy Cue, has fired Richard Williamson, the overseer of the application.  Tim Cook, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, issued a sincere apology for the mapping problems after the company replaced Google Maps with their own version on iPhones and iPads using IOS 6. The new service had mislabeled streets, misleading driving directions, missing images and incorrect addresses. The firing of Williamson follows a shakeup in Apple’s senior management  that was announced late last month.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG): According to Business Insider, after a court ruled that products using certain versions of Google Inc.’s Android operating system infringe an Apple patent, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) won a Dutch sales ban on some of Samsung’s (SSNLF) older Galaxy tablets and smartphones.
