Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will announce the much anticipated iPad 3 the first week of March, sources say.
The trailblazing tech company will debut its latest device at a signature event in San Francisco, most likely at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, where Apple has been known to make big announcements. The iPad 3 street date remains up for speculation, but it’s a good bet that it will be available a week following the big reveal.
What can we expect from the next-generation iPad? Pretty much what we’ve heard from reports thus far: an improved graphics processing unit, a 2048×1536 pixel Retina Display, a new camera and it will run on a much faster chip. Apple declined to comment on the event, saying the company doesn’t comment on rumors and speculation.
Here’s how Apple’s stock is trading on the news:
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL): AAPL shares recently traded at $486.14, up $9.46, or 1.98%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $310.50 to $469.75. Volume today was 6,751,426 shares versus a 3-month average volume of 12,391,900 shares. The company’s trailing P/E is 13.78, while trailing earnings are $35.14 per share.
