Ameren Q3 EPS Falls Short and 2 Stocks Dipping to 52-Week Lows

Ameren Corp. (NYSE:AEE) reports a Q3 adjusted EPS of $1.33, consensus $1.41. The shares closed at $30.36, down $1.14 or 3.62 percent on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $30.89 to $35.30.

Bazaarvoice Inc. (NYSE:BV): Empire Capital has reported a 5.4 percent passive stake in Bazaarvoice. The shares closed at $10.10, up $0.02 or 0.2 percent on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $12.96 to $21.10.

Career Education Cor (NASDAQ:CECO): A great deal of for-profit education stocks retreat following Strayer Education’s (NASDAQ:STRA) prediction that its Q4 profit would be well below Wall Street’s expectations. Additionally, Strayer’s full-year earnings per share outlook was well below analysts’ consensus estimate, and the company announced the suspension of its dividend in 2013, saying that its enrollment saw a 4.6 percent drop in Q3. However, new student enrollments did see a 40 percent increase versus the same period in 2011. In mid-morning trading, Strayer decreased $6.32, or 11.25 percent, to $49.85, while Bridgepoint Education (NYSE:BPI) gave back 2.43 percent to $8.83, Grand Canyon (NASDAQ:LOPE) fell 3.06 percent to $21.55, and Corinthian Colleges (NASDAQ:COCO) dropped 1.73 percent to 42.27. The shares closed at $2.93, down $0.48 or 14.08 percent on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $3.05 to $12.41.
