Alcatel-Lucent Partners with CSU and 4 Telecom Titans Attracting Interest

Vodafone Group PLC. (NASDAQ:VOD): One of the United Kingdom’s mobile carriers, Vodafone Group PLC.,  has announced that Jelly Bean is now available to subscribers who own a Galaxy S III. According to Pocket-Lint, the OTA update has started, but it is going to be a tiered release. Owners will be notified when the update is available.

MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE:PCS): The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is finally available to Samsung Galaxy S3. The carrier will offer the device without requiring customers to sign-up for a lengthy contract and it will retail for $499. The MetroPCS Communications, Inc.’s variant will feature 2GB RAM, a dual-core S4 CPU, and 4G LTE support.

Level 3 Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:LVLT): Level 3 Communications Inc. is expected to report their third quarter earnings on October 24. Comparing the upcoming quarter to the prior-year quarter, average analyst estimates predict Level 3 Communications’s revenues will grow 68.5% and their earnings per share will remain in the red. The average estimate for revenue is $1.60 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is -$0.14.

Supporting its Access to Excellence plan, CSU campuses will operate on the same standardized local area network equipment from Alcatel-Lucent for the next eight years.

Hesse said that that he will look at any opportunity to take out a strategic investor.
