Abercrombie & Fitch Pronounced Teen Black Friday Winner: Consumer Business Review

Oppenheimer pronounces Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE:ANF) the “teen winner” among Black Friday retailers in a Friday morning report. An honorable mention was New York & Company (NYSE:NWY), but Ann Taylor Stores Corp. (NYSE:ANN), which opened at a later time, might have committed an error in doing so. Pamela Quintiliano observed that, “Those retailers that advertised Friday doorbusters had higher levels of traffic and conversion. Abercrombie was the clear teen winner in traffic and conversion and the only one that had no promotions until today, when it switched to 50 percent off storewide.” Aeropostale (NYSE:ARO), The Gap (NYSE:GPS) and Zumiez all held the same promotions as they did on Wednesday, featuring select ‘doorbuster’ deals.
