A123 Systems POPS to Lead 7 NASDAQ Top Percentage Winners

Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ:GEVO) announced that Judge Sue L Robinson of the U.S. District Court of Delaware denied a Motion for Preliminary Injunction sought by Butamax Advanced Biofuels against the company on the grounds that Butamax held no valid patent,  and further, that there would have been no violation even if it did. Butamax is also on the back foot within the Patent & Trademark Office, which has rejected all of its claims that were challenged by Gevo, saying the claims were unpatentable. The shares closed at $7.75, up $1.83, or 30.91 percent. They have traded in a 52-week range of $4.84 to $18.75.

Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDIX) released clinical data on its ongoing Phase 2b study of hepatitis C drug, IDX184,  that showed suppression of the virus. The shares closed at $10.71, up $1.34, or 14.3 percent. They have traded in a 52-week range of $4.06 to $15.25.

A123 Systems’s (NASDAQ:AONE) fortunes could undergo a sea change if its claims of a lithium-ion battery that is over ten times more powerful than a normal lead acid battery and can function in extreme temperatures, are proved true. Yet, the company is disadvantaged due to the lack of fresh funding and new contracts. The shares closed at $1.45, up $0.12, or 9.02 percent. They have traded in a 52-week range of $0.82 to $5.91.

MannKind Corporation (NASDAQ:MNKD): The shares have traded in a 52-week range of $1.57 to $4.30.

James River Coal Company (NASDAQ:JRCC): The shares have traded in a 52-week range of $1.90 to $22.00.

ValueVision Media, Inc. (NASDAQ:VVTV): The shares have traded in a 52-week range of $1.43 to $8.73.

Mitek Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MITK): The shares have traded in a 52-week range of $1.90 to $13.11.
