5 Late Stocks Hitting Radars: Bed Bath & Beyond Jumps 5%, Ruby Tuesday Plummets 11%

Shares of Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (NASDAQ:BBBY) jumped more than 5 percent in late market trading. The company reported a 32 percent increase in fourth-quarter profits. The company earned $1.48 per share, compared to $1.33 per share a year earlier.

ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) shares edged slightly higher after the closing bell. The company’s board approved the spinoff of its Phillips 66 gas station chain. At the end of the month, shareholders will receive one Phillips 66 common stock share for every two shares of ConocoPhillips stock held at the close of April 16.

After more than 250,000 votes, Consumerist readers picked Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) as the worst company in America. The website explains that EA likes to “nickel and dime consumers to death.” Shares of the video game company closed more than 2 percent lower on Wednesday.

Ruby Tuesday Inc. (NYSE:RT) shares plummeted almost 11 percent after announcing third-quarter financial results. Net income declined to $4.5 million (7 cents per share), compared to $16 million (25 cents per share) a year earlier. “The promotional environment continues to be very competitive and over the past several quarters we have not competed well with the heavy television advertising levels of our peers,” Chief Executive Sandy Beall said in a statement, according to Reuters.

Shares of Pandora Media Inc. (NYSE:P) edged .70 percent higher in extended trading. The online music company announced at the New York International Auto Show that Suzuki and Nissan plan to integrate its product into radios on 2013 models.
