Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW): Closing price $33.27

On Monday, Dow announced that it will build a number of new, specialty material output units aligned with its high value Performance Plastics franchise on the Gulf Coast. The step further links its domestic manufacturing operations with cost-advantaged feedstocks available from growing supplies of shale gas in North America, while concurrently creating thousands of new, high-paying jobs across the manufacturing sector. All together, Dow expects that the new Performance Plastics facilities will hire as many as 3,000 workers at construction peak.
