Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN): Current price $259.37

Amazon is collecting an arsenal of television shows and movies to challenge that of Netflix and media companies such as Time Warner and CBS have no problem with it. The former will not reveal its own original television shows until fall at the soonest, but it is shelling out hundreds of millions of bucks for the exclusive Web rights to shows about which it can boast on its Amazon Prime streaming service, such as Downton Abbey, from PBS and Falling Skies, from TNT. Just on Monday, Amazon reported an unusual arrangement with the nation’s most-watched television network, CBS, to carry episodes of Under the Dome only days after the series makes its debut on TV in June.
