On Tuesday the company announced a voluntary recall of 7 varieties of frozen pizza, arising from worries that the failure of a metal screen at a third-party mill could have contaminated dough used in the pizza. No metal has been found in Annie’s finished product and no consumers have complained, but as a precaution, the company initiated this voluntary recall, also conceding that its screening process did not to detect the contamination. A spokesperson said that Annie’s is working with the FDA and USDA to reach a quick resolution of the matter.
