Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE:ANF): Closing price $54.11

An injunction against Abercrombie & Fitch and J.M. Hollister is being looked over by a federal judge in Denver, following an earlier decision that almost 250 of their clothing stores are unfriendly to the disabled. The lawsuit was brought on behalf of a number of Colorado customers who said they had difficulty getting onto the retailers’ premises, and that the sales countertops are too high. Attorney Amy Robertson in representing the disabled in the suit, and compared the case with the fight against racial segregation in the 1960s.

Flowers Foods (NYSE:FLO): Closing price $34.63

On Wednesday, the company’s board declared a three-for-two split of Flowers’ stock via a 50-percent stock dividend and also hiked the yearly cash dividend by 35 cents. The split equates to a 5.5-percent increase over the previous dividend rate. Both the stock split and the dividend are payable on June 19, to shareholders of record on June 5. Subsequent to the split, Flowers shareholders will own three shares for every two shares they held on the record date and the quarterly dividend rate will be 11.25 cents per share, or 45 cents per share on an annualized basis.

Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN): Current price $262.96

Amazon Publishing has announced Kindle Worlds, which is the first commercial publishing platform that will permit any writer to create fan fiction based on a range of original stories and characters, and earn royalties upon its completion. Amazon Publishing has obtained licenses from Warner Bros. Television Groups Alloy Entertainment division for its New York Times best-selling book series Gossip Girl, by Cecily von Ziegesar; Pretty Little Liars, by Sara Shepard; and Vampire Diaries, by L.J. Smith; and intends to announce more licenses in the near-term. Through these licenses, Kindle Worlds will enable any writer to publish authorized stories inspired by these popular Worlds and make them available for readers to buy in the Kindle Store.

Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F): Closing price $14.97

The iconic automaker is adding one week of production at 20 North American factories in 2013 to construct an additional 40,000 vehicles, and help sustain its gains in domestic market share. On Wednesday, Ford said that those factories will be idled for only one week this summer, rather than the traditional two-week “summer shutdown” period, marking the second year in a row that the company has done this. This increased capacity is at a time when Ford sales are outstrippng the overall United States auto market.
