At a press conference on March 12, the CFO of Sirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI), David Frear, made some statements that investors will want to know. At the press conference, Frear discussed the growth of the company in stages.

Frear noted that satellite radio started about ten years ago and has grown very rapidly in that time. Since it started up 10 years ago, satellite radio has already grown to 25 million subscribers. There may be even more subscribers if the Canadian subscribers are included in those numbers. Frear stated that integrating satellite radio into cars helped spur the growth.

Frear suggested that the growth can be thought of in stages. The first stage would be the launch phase during which satellite radio was sold through consumer electronic stores.
