Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) is thought to be among the potential buyers of NetApp (NASDAQ:NTAP), as that company’s valuation continues to descend to its lowest figure on record, and is thus ripe for acquisition, according to Bloomberg. One of NetApp’s large shareholders, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, calculates that the company might get offers from IBM (NYSE:IBM) and Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL), as well as Cisco. FBN Securities estimates that NetApp could bring as much as $45 per share in a takeover situation.
Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) new policy of setting “do not track” as default on its Internet Explorer Web browser, has been attacked by a group of online advertisers, said an article in The Hill on Friday. The policy, which was announced late on Thursday, will protect users’ Web browsing history from being tracked by online advertisers, and will mark IE as the first browser to feature such an innovation.
