Now that LeBron James has gone on the record saying, essentially, that Kevin Durant should win this year’s MVP award, what was once a tightly contested race between the two best forwards in the game has become a formality, a waiting game that’s hanging on to actually finish once the regular season is totally and utterly in the bag. Everyone and their family pets know that Kevin Durant’s walking away with the award. (Even if Joakim Noah is still the “real” MVP — the Bulls are 34-14 after trading Luol Deng. Just sayin’.)

So that’s all sewn up. But which teams, historically, have birthed the most MVP winners? Even though no one has ever claimed unanimous victory among the voting public (Shaq and LeBron have come closest, each missing out by a single vote), there are some franchises that have a better track record than others when it comes to producing MVP winners. And, because it’s not voted on by the fans, it arguably remains unaffected by the larger markets massive fanbases (again, arguably).

So, without further adieu, here are the most MVP-friendly franchises in the NBA, ranked from least to greatest. All data gathered from the invaluable Basketball-Reference.com.
