Digital Fitness: 8 Workout Programs You Can Do Online
Looking for a way to save time and money but still work up a good sweat? Using technology is a great way to do just that. Online workout videos can be streamed from anywhere (as long as you have a computer, tablet, or smartphone), which cuts out the middleman entirely, meaning you don’t need to leave the house, drive anywhere or pay extra just to get in a workout.
These eight programs offer reasonable membership rates (some are free!) and provide a wide range of different workouts, including yoga, Pilates and high-intensity interval training. One thing’s for sure – after trying one of these workouts, you’ll never want to see the inside of a gym again.
A monthly streaming membership to Barre3, which is a combination of barre, Pilates and Yoga, is $15 a month and provides unlimited access to hundreds of body-shaping workouts. The programs vary in length from 10 minutes to an hour, so you can do a workout based on how much time you have. Barre workouts include “components of Pilates, yoga, and ballet,” Kate Albarelli, a barre instructor, explains to Teen Vogue. “The moves are considered ballet-based but only because they’re derived from the Lotte Berk Method. Lotte was a ballet dancer, so she used some of her dance moves when creating the workout, but what we see as today’s barre classes have gone through so many tweaks over the years.”
Barre3 also gives you access to great seasonal recipes and meal ideas, along with customized workout schedules and programs, such as 28 to Great and 7 Day Body Blast, all created by Barre3 founder Sadie Lincoln.
