More and more, yoga is becoming many people’s go-to workout. It has great benefits, including reducing stress, improving flexibility, and creating long, lean muscles. But if you want a yoga practice designed to amp up your heart rate and blast fat and calories, it might be time to take your yoga practice to the next level. Don’t worry — there are a lot of simple things you can do to crank it up a notch.

1. Switch up your style

There are several variations of yoga, and some are more intense than others. For example, if you’re currently practicing Hatha yoga, you’re probably not burning a ton of calories. It’s a class that’s typically recommended for people who are unfamiliar with yoga, and it moves at a slower pace. If you switch to another practice, such as, you are going to notice a big change in the pace of the workout.
