5 Beach Accessories Every Woman Needs for a Stylish Summer
Even if you’re only dreaming of warmer weather, it is never too early to start planning your beachwear accessories for the upcoming season of fun in the sun. With the perfect bathing suit already found, you’re probably searching for a bag to hold your towel, books, and magazines. Or maybe it’s a great pair of shades that you need before hitting the beach. From hats to flip-flops, we’ve got you styled for a summer in the sand.
Straw hats have been a summer staple since well before people began writing about trends. Before they were a must-have accessory, Straw Hats, their history and manufacture explains the hats were used by ancient societies to keep cool. They still preform the same function today, but are not necessarily all about practicality. An oversized floppy hat, like the one with a bow detail by Kate Landry, or the Echo Design patterned hat will give you the most sun protection, fully covering your face from UV rays. The black straw hat by J. Crew has slightly less protection, but is still a classic look.
Of course floppy fashions aren’t the only choice. Panama hats (top left) and fedoras (top right) have equally historic style roots and will help keep you cool. Though it’s a summer go-to, the straw hat isn’t the best option for incredibly active beach goers. If you plan on playing beach volleyball, soccer, or running around, ditch history and go for a cute visor. It will stay on your head, and out of your eyes, allowing you to keep your head in the game.
