Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE:BKS)’s Chariman, Leonard Riggio, has revealed that he notified the company’s board of his intentions to purchase all of the assets of the company’s retail business. The retail business will include Barnes & Noble Booksellers and barnesandnoble.com, but will not include NOOK Media LLC. Riggio intends to make the proposal to facilitate the company’s evaluation of their previously announced review of strategic options for the separation of their investment in NOOK Media LLC. According to Riggio, he will provide the equity financing for the transaction, along with undertaking the arrangement of any debt financing that is required.
