Year-to-date, General Electric’s (NYSE:GE) shares are up 14.68 percent. The company recently announced that GE Aviation won a near $9 million contract which will support surveillance systems such as the United States Marine Corps Ground-Based Operation Surveillance System program. The terms include lab testing assets, integration, the inertial reference unit, repairs and engineering support for the program.

The work will be conducted at the company’s Grand Rapids facilities with deliveries beginning this year through the end of 2017′s third quarter.
