Will Delta Air Lines’s Largest Shareholders Buy More After Its Aeromexico Venture?

For the year-to-date, Delta Air Lines Inc.’s (NYSE:DAL) shares are up 6.37 percent. On Saturday, the company announced in a statement with Grupo Aeromexico, their joint plans to invest $40 million for the building and operating of an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul center in central Mexico’s state Queretaro. The center will be built at the Queretaro International Airport adjacent to the state’s Aerospace Park, Mexico’ biggest aerospace manufacturing cluster. The airlines will equally invest in the facility, which will be service their fleets as well as other airlines.

Delta Air Lines President Ed Bastian said, ”With the site selection, the joint efforts now move to begin constructing this facility that will usher in lower maintenance costs without compromising the very high quality work that Aeromexico provides Delta.”
