After the first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer was released, the fan base immediately wondered where Bradley Cooper’s voice for Rocket Raccoon was, or Vin Diesel as Groot. Marvel has responded in a big way — with video profiles of each of the characters. The quick clips don’t provide much, since each are approximately 30 seconds, but as MTV pointed out, one thing is certain: Cooper isn’t trying his hand at a Scottish accent for Rocket.

Previously, the character has been voiced with the highlands in his cadence, but Cooper is decidedly American. Entertainment Wise covered remarks made by the film’s director, James Gunn. ”We’ve recorded most of Bradley’s dialogue already,” Gunn said. “I suppose you would expect me to tell you he’s fantastic and his characterization of Rocket will blow your mind — so don’t believe me and just wait to see (or hear) it for yourself.”

Marvel has high hopes for the franchise, but the cast of characters or plot may not be as well-known as their previous flicks like The Incredible Hulk or Iron Man. As Wired lays out, trying to keep track of who, when, where, and what with this series can be difficult. Guardians of the Galaxy combines a gang of superheroes from several comics, various locations, and times. Video introductions may help to bridge that gap.

Gunn has high hopes for the film, which has meant a lot to him professionally. ”There is no doubt that the cinematic pinnacle of my career is our cameras circling around a maniacal raccoon shooting a machine gun on the back of a living tree. And I say this with as much modesty as I can muster — because certainly it is not me, but the hand of God guiding us all as we make this film — but it just may be the pinnacle of cinema in general,” Gunn stated in a recent interview.

Guardians of the Galaxy follows the story of Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who is searching the depths of outer space for the movie’s villain, Ronan (Lee Pace). The movie is scheduled for to be released on August 1, 2014. Joining Cooper, Diesel, and Pratt are other big Hollywood names like John C. Reilly and Glenn Close. Although the first installment has yet to hit theaters, a second has already been announced, potentially coming to the screen in 2016.
