Here are 14 new series premieres to catch this month.

1. Houdini (History Channel)

This two-part, four-hour miniseries on the History Channel stars Adrien Brody as legendary illusionist and escape artist Harry Houdini. The series will follow the now-renowned magician on his lengthy journey from poverty to international fame, illustrating his growing abilities to master the art of illusion and take on even the most dangerous, death-defying stunts along the way. The much-buzzed-about miniseries also features Kristen Connolly, Eszter Onodi, Tom Benedict Knight, and Jeremy Wheeler, and is slated to premiere on September 1 at 9 p.m.
