A Look Back: In the third quarter, profit rose more than sixfold to $330.9 million ($4.73 a share) from $48.2 million (67 cents a share) the year earlier, exceeding analyst expectations. Revenue rose 53.1% to $1.4 billion from $917.1 million.

Over that span, the company has averaged growth of 92.2%, with the biggest boost coming in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year when revenue rose more than twofold from the year earlier quarter.

The stock price saw one of its best stretches over the last year between March 28, 2011 and April 5, 2011, when shares rose for seven straight days, increasing 12.3% (+$15.67) over that span. It saw one of its worst periods between September 14, 2011 and September 23, 2011 when shares fell for eight straight days, dropping 18.9% (-$33.95) over that span.
