The first two months of this year proved to be a trying time for automakers, as sales remained anemic and cold weather wasn’t doing anyone any favors. However, March was a different story — sales last month were very good for many.

“Trucks led much of the sales gains for March, with especially strong performances from Ram, Ford and Toyota,” Cars.com says. “The Ram brand had its best month for pickup sales in a decade, and the brand as a whole posted a 29 percent gain year-over-year in March versus March 2013.”

Luxury cars did very well during the month, though given their low volume, you won’t see them here; however, Maserati posted sales gains of 340 percent, and Jaguar-Land Rover also saw a really impressive month. On a more pedestrian level, mid-size sedans, long a staple of American auto sales, did quite well — the Camry and Fusion both saw encouraging gains during the month.

Find out what else made this month’s list of best-selling cars after the jump.
